Garden Guide US helps U.S. gardeners compare garden gear and choose products that suit their climate, space and budget. This page explains how we pick products, and what we do and do not claim.

We Research and Compare, We Do Not Run Field Tests

We do not physically test every product we feature, and we never say we did. Our recommendations come from research: manufacturer specifications, product manuals, warranty terms, safety certifications, guidance from university cooperative extension services and patterns in verified owner feedback. When a claim depends on hands-on measurement, such as runtime, flow rate or noise level, we point to the manufacturer’s published figures and say so.

How We Choose Products

  • Fit for the search. If a guide is about a price point, a yard size or a specific use, every pick has to meet that requirement.
  • Climate fit. We check the details that decide how gear performs in different parts of the country, such as snow and wind ratings for greenhouses, freeze protection for watering gear and heat tolerance for plastics. Each guide notes which USDA hardiness zones and conditions a product suits.
  • Core specifications. We compare the specs that matter for each category, for example panel thickness and frame material for greenhouses, deck width and engine or battery platform for mowers, or capacity and turning design for compost tumblers.
  • Durability signals. Warranty length, parts availability and recurring complaints in owner feedback.
  • Availability. We focus on products currently sold in the United States.

How We Use AI

We use AI tools to help research products, organize product data and draft our guides. Every pick is checked against the manufacturer’s specifications and the current product listing before a guide is published or updated. If you find an error, please tell us through our Contact page and we will correct it.

Owner Feedback

We read owner questions and common complaints to find what listings leave out, such as assembly difficulty, missing hardware, parts that wear out early or app subscriptions. We summarize these patterns in our own words.

Keeping Guides Current

Products change often. We update guides when models are discontinued, replaced or no longer available, and before each spring planting season. Every article shows its last updated date. We do not publish fixed prices because they change constantly.

Independence

We earn commissions from some links, as explained in our Affiliate Disclosure. Commissions never decide which products we include or how we rank them.
